Shira Mall is one of the oldest, most popular shopping and entertainment centers in the sprawling metropolis of Dammam. Located in the heart of the city on 18th Street, had the best amenities in city but age of systems had forced owners to refurbish the civil finishes and electromechanical systems for the new design. In 2018, the operators decided to increase the number of outlets and upgrade all systems to meet the market demand. Jazal was involved in refurbishment of the project handling complete Interior civil finishes included Ceiling, Partitions, Floor and Wall Finishes, electromechanical works included LV Systems, Low current systems, Power Distribution, HVAC and plumbing system. Shopping Mall included1 basement floor for Parking, Utility area and offices and 2 floors and Mezanine for 60 Retail tenants, 3 Anchor stores, restaurants, entertainment area and cinemas. External areas were developed with landscaping, Kerbstone and Paver for car parking. Also the external scope included Curtain Wall Fascade with ACP Cladding for improving the elevation. Ice Skirting facility in the existing mall was dismantled and later converted to event arena with all finishes required. One of the most defining features of this project is this central portico. An array of pergolas, hard & soft scapes, seating areas, and children’s playground are strategically scattered across the space revolving around the central skylights of the mall.
